Every strange place has a reason.

Short vertical videos about strange real places on Earth (a lake that's half pink, rocks that slide across a desert, an island growing under the sea) and the real reason each one is like that. Every number is checked against its source.

How the videos are made

A personal tool, run by one person, makes and posts the videos. It is not a service for the public and has no sign-up. It picks a topic, checks every fact against a source page, writes and voices a script with AI tools, builds the video and runs automatic quality checks, then posts it to the owner's own accounts. The narration is an AI voice.

Where the pictures come from

Maps and diagrams are drawn by code. Real pictures and footage come from public-domain U.S. government sources (NASA, NOAA, USGS, NPS), credited on screen. No agency endorses these videos. We explain places, never forecasts: for warnings and safety, follow your local weather service and officials.

Who runs it

Joe Hughes runs it as a personal project, with the same tool and policies as Second Look Space. Questions or removal requests: contact@hughesnode.com.
